What recent changes have been made to our privacy policy and how you are notified of changes:
S&H now permits persons ages of thirteen and older to enroll as greenpoints members.
Our privacy policy has been changed to reflect this. Our privacy policy has also been changed to provide our new
customer service address.
S&H will not use your personal information in a manner
different from that stated at the time of collection without notifying you and
giving you a choice as to whether or not we may use such information in this
different manner. S&H will post a notice of any material changes on this web
site and, when deemed necessary, will take commercially reasonable measures to
ensure that you have been notified prior to the changes being implemented. If you have closed your account then you
will not be contacted and S&H will not use your personal information in this
new manner.
What
personal information S&H collects about you, how it is used, and with whom it is shared:
When you browse S&H's site you may do so anonymously. No personal information,
including your e-mail address is collected.
If you wish to enroll as an S&H greenpoints member, you can do so on this site.
During enrollment, S&H will collect some basic personal information, including your home address and
e-mail address. You will also
be asked to verify that you are at least 13 years old.
You will be asked to choose an S&H username and password, which you will need in order to access information
about yourself on the site and can later change.
You may also be able to enroll as an S&H greenpoints member at the sites of merchants
who have been authorized to issue S&H greenpoints, and at off-line establishments that
are authorized to issue S&H greenpoints. At the time of enrollment, on the merchant sites, you will have to
provide similar information, which will be communicated to S&H and treated in accordance
with this privacy policy.
As an S&H greenpoints member you may personalize your account to allow us to
serve you better by providing optional additional personal information such as
your phone number, and demographic information such as your education and number
in your household. S&H will use this information to personalize your
experience with us and may also use it to notify you of promotions or
announcements that S&H thinks will be of interest to you. Personalizing your
account is not required. You may opt out of receiving promotional email during enrollment
by selecting not to be notified by email of any special promotions; by selecting
unsubscribe on the "Change Email Preferences" page in the
"My Account" section of the S&H
greenpoints website; or by selecting the unsubscribe option in any email you
receive.
The personal information that you provide will be used by S&H to facilitate your
participation as an S&H greenpoints member. In addition, information about purchases
you make at a participating S&H merchant to whom you identify yourself as an S&H
greenpoints member, will also be used within S&H to facilitate the operation of the
S&H greenpoints program. Such information about your purchases may be shared with the
merchant where such purchases were made but will not be provided to any other third parties.
Companies placing advertising on S&H's site or to whom you can link from S&H's site or participating S&H merchants may collect information about you when you view their advertising or access their site or identify yourself to them as an S&H greenpoints member. S&H
does not control this collection of information and you should contact these other parties
directly if you have any questions about their collection or use of information.
From time-to-time, our site, our co-branded sites, and our participating S&H
merchants host surveys or contests, which occasionally requests personal
information. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary
and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information.
Information requested often includes contact info (like name and shipping
address) and demographic information (such as zip code and age level). Contact
information will be used to notify the winners and award prizes. Survey
information will be considered personal information, and treated in accordance
with this privacy policy, and, as such, will not be shared with third parties
except as provided herein.
S&H shares statistical or demographic information in aggregate form with
participating S&H merchants, advertisers or other third parties. However,
such information will not identify you or include specific personal information
about you, your personal behavior or your preferences as an individual.
You can always choose whether or not to disclose personal information to
S&H. S&H will not rent, trade or sell your personal information, to any third
party, without your permission. To enable a third party, such as a marketing agency, to perform services on
behalf of S&H such as determining your eligibility to receive offers and
promotions, or mailing S&H communications to you, S&H may disclose
necessary personal information, such as your address, to such third party.
Whenever S&H provides a third party with such information, S&H will take
all reasonable steps necessary to insure that the third party will not disclose
such information or use it for any other purpose. S&H must cooperate fully
if it is required by law or legal process to provide information about you.

Your personal information is password protected. Only you and persons to
whom you provide the password will have access to your information. You
can review this information for inaccuracies and update it by signing in
to the S&H greenpoints website and clicking on any of the following options
located in the "My Account" section of the web site:

‘Change Username/Password’, ‘Change Email Preferences ’, or ‘Manage Personalized Data’, and simply
changing or filling in the correct information. In addition, you may also contact

else. You will not be asked to provide your password except to access your
personal information and complete secured transactions on the S&H site.

What cookies are and how they are used:
S&H uses cookies to make the site easier to use. Cookies
are a standard Internet technology and are small data files written to your hard
drive when you visit a site. They cannot read data off your hard disc or read
cookie files created by other sites. Cookies allow S&H greenpoints to
remember you each time you visit, so that you don't need to reenter your
username and password. To turn this feature off you need only log out of the
site and the cookie will be deleted. Exiting from the site without logging off
will not deactivate the cookie. You can also set your browser to not accept
cookies. Cookies are also used to anonymously identify you as you use the
S&H greenpoints site. These cookies do not include passwords or personal
information about you and expire once you leave the site or close your
browser.
In addition to cookies we use log files like most standard web
site servers. This includes IP (Internet Protocol) addresses, browser type, ISP
(Internet Service Provider), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time
stamp, and number of demographic information for aggregate use. These files are
not linked to personal information.
The use of cookies by our by affiliate network partners is/is not covered by our privacy policy. We do/do not have access or control over these cookies. Our affiliate network partners use session ID cookies to enable us to award you S&H greenpoints for your online purchases performed through greenpoints.com.
They employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. Web Beacons/Web Bugs), that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, clear gifs are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We do not tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customers’ personal information.

We may occasionally use clear gifs in our HTML-based emails to let us know which emails have been opened by recipients. We partner with a third party ad network to either display advertising on our Web site or to manage our advertising on other sites. How S&H addresses children's privacy:
S&H's site is not directed to or intended to be used by children under the age of thirteen. Persons under the age of thirteen years are not eligible for participation as S&H
greenpoints members. S&H will not request or knowingly collect from
any person under the age of thirteen any information that can be traced
to that person, including name, address, telephone number, e-mail address
or information about such person's family.
How you may close your account:
Participation as an S&H greenpoints member is purely voluntary on your part. You can
terminate your membership at any time by contacting S&H at customerservice@greenpoints.com
and requesting that your account be closed. S&H suggests that prior to closing your account
you either redeem any greenpoints held in your account or arrange to transfer them to a third
party of your choosing. At the time you close your account, any greenpoints remaining that
you have not elected to transfer will be transferred to an S&H selected charitable organization.
How to opt out from receiving offers and other information:
Certain basic information must be maintained by S&H in order to facilitate your
participation as an S&H greenpoints member. However, if you do not wish
to receive promotions or announcements that S&H may feel will be of interest to you, you may
opt out of receiving promotional email during enrollment by selecting not to be notified by email of any special promotions;
by selecting to unsubscribe on the “Change Email Preferences” page in the
My Account section of the S&H greenpoints website; or by selecting the
unsubscribe option in any e-mail you receive. You also can notify us at customerservice@greenpoints.com
that you no longer wish to receive such promotions and announcements
and we will cease sending them to you.
